Joe’s athletic career has always been a family affair. His mother, who first volunteered at his high school, became his first track coach. Now, his wife, Ashley, has guided him to the highest levels in the history of the event.
While his accomplishments on the world stage are significant, Joe is most proud to be a husband and a dad to twins, Kannon and Kaari. Born in November 2022, they are now the newest and most enthusiastic members of his cheering squad.
With unwavering support from family, sponsors, and fans, Joe remains focused on the future, pushing for new milestones on and off the field.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Joe Kovacs is proud to have represented and podium-finished in the last eight global championships for the United States of America.
Joe is 8 for 8 in bringing back hardware in major championships and intends to keep this streak alive through the next three Olympic cycles.
Along with his Olympic and World Championship medals, Joe has also won three World Athletics Diamond League Trophies, further solidifying his place among the best in the sport.

Nike endorsed Joe in 2012 out of Penn State. Joe represented Nike in his first World Championship Title in 2015 and during his first Olympics in Rio. Joe is very excited to be back representing Nike for the 2022 World Championships in Eugene and onward.

The New York Athletic Club is a private social and athletic club in New York City. Founded in 1868, the club has supported many sports, including rowing, wrestling, boxing, judo, fencing, swimming, basketball, rugby union, soccer, tennis, handball, squash, snooker, lacrosse and water polo.

Joe has been selected for grants from the USATF foundation for the past three years. Joe said, " It is a true honor to be selected for this grant. I thank the foundation for the support they give me and all of they help they give to all athletes they help keep the dream alive. Joe wants to especially thank Board member Steve Schwarzman for his continued support and friendships during Joe's Career.
